1/I started this book wanting to like it. If you’ve never read any Micheal Crichton books or seen the show Rick and Morty, then you might like this book. It has an interesting premise, however the characters and their encounters are generic, making the book (which should feel exciting), feel boring.
Furthermore, and this may not bother others as much as it bothered me, but the entire book feels like it was written as a text message. For example:
It reads like this.
Short sentences.
Then a new paragraph.
Then more short sentences.
And so on.
There are very very actual paragraphs.
2/Wow. I don’t even know where to start. I’ve never been into sci-fi. But wow did this book change my whole perspective. Absolutely brilliant. From his writing to the plot. I just couldn’t believe it. From start to finish I was hooked. It took me 24 hrs to finish this.
The main character, Jason, was so lovable. It really put into perspective how wonderful every choice you made in life is. This was my top read of 2022 and I hope to continue reading from this author.
3/Fast paced interesting story. Deck stacked in favor of Jason 1. Sentences are short and disguised by many short paragraphs. Charterer development so so. Plot was good though. A good airplane read but nothing more to stick to your ribs.
