I’m a novelist, a songwriter, and a comedian, and although my creative processes in these very different disciplines are all pretty conscious and linear, I have created books, songs, and comedy bits that made me ask, “Did I write that?” To paraphrase Pressfield, the Muse doesn’t give, it gives back.
