1/There was a few sentences with ink fading, but it was only two-three small sentences. The cover is beautiful, just be careful since it does crease.
The book itself was AMAZING. I laughed, I cried, it was everything you could imagine. At the end of it, I was literally in shock. There are so many twists, it may seem boring at first but it’s honestly one of my favorite books now. I never read books , but this book was the thing that caused me to love reading now.
2/I struggled to get into this one. It was slow and the storyline was kinda boring in the beginning. Once it hit the middleish it really picked up and got interesting. I really didn’t have a good idea of who did it or who didn’t. All the people seemed plausible suspects. I was not expecting what happened though at all. It completely surprised me.
3/This is a fun whodunit with a main character who is likable, intelligent, and witty and the author does a good job of capturing her thoughts and feelings as she goes on this journey to prove or disprove Sal’s innocence.
Ignoring the fact that it’s a leap of imagination that any teacher/school would allow her to make this her senior project, I still love stories like this. I love to try to figure it out before your main character does and I succeed in this case…. Well…. I half way succeeded and I’m happy with that because it means the author managed to surprise me and I love surprises. I think the only thing I would critique is the main characters lack of self preservation or concern. It never seems to occur to her that she’s going to be targeted and potentially hurt. I think a little more self thought would have made this more believable.
The writing is great and really lures the reader in easily and keeps you there. There are so many elements at okay and you’re going to be shocked at the end when you’re aware of what you SHOULD have paid attention to and didn’t.
If you like mysteries and YA without a heavy romance plot, this is a great choice.
