Empire of Storms Audiobook Reviews:
1/Even though I read this book and loved the premise of the story I took away 2 stars; here is why.
I was rooting for Rowan and Aelin to finally have their private moment together, but when they did I did not expect a 3 page detailed sex scene. I thought it would be a short and sweet description like when Aelin slept with Chaol in book 2. I had enjoyed the sexual tension between Rowan and Aelin and felt like I had followed the characters through so much, but the details of their sex life made me feel like a pervy peeping Tom. I don’t want to know the details of my real friends’ sex lives, which is how it felt reading about the characters who I have followed for 5 books now. And there are more of their sexual encounters detailed in the rest of the book.
Also most of the characters started pairing up and having sex or coming close to it, which made this feel like her new adult series ACOTAR. I am a sucker for romance, but this just seemed like over kill, and the SMUT was too much. So this is NOT A YA BOOK!
2/Masterfully crafted , this series will grab your heart and not let go. This book is one of my favorite of the series.
This series is a must read. I’ve reread it multiple times and still never tire of its brilliance
3/I have been reading fantasy for over 50 years… And this is as good as it gets. Every book has me one edge for the next. Bitter sweet coming to the end of the saga… I want to know how it ends while hoping it never does. Can’t wait… On I go!
