1/I am a huge SJM fan. The writing is fantastic in this book, but the plot is slow and not what I’m used to seeing from her. The entire first 3/4s was the two MCs running around trying to find out “who dun it.” The only “adult” content is a bit more description of the violence and the f word. The two MCs have an annoyingly slow burn romance that doesn’t even involve a s3# scene. SJM is known for her plot twists, but she placed so many in there it was daunting. The very end is what we expect from this author. The last 5% was action packed and magical, then ending fell flat. It was a tease for book two. I won’t continue the series…
2/I almost put the book down during the first couple of chapters but forged on and I am glad I did. As I continued the character’s blossomed and I became invested in the progression of story line
3/Good action book not a romance. I can’t believe they have this book as a romance. Who uses a whole book about 2 adults that had pass relationships. But everytime their about to have relations. Somebody interprets. Like wow really. Mind you the main female character was a loose women. Very disappointing as a romance book. Not if read the book as an action.
