Reviews:

1/I am an aspiring economist (BS in math-Econ from UC San Diego, planning to do an Econ Ph.D.), and this book was a delight to read. I would not say that I would agree with every single proposal put forth in the book (there were a couple that seemed disastrous to me) but even those that did not inspire my support were reasoned in a way that was worth reading, and helped me create a more nuanced opinion of my own. Separately, the impact that this book produced it enormous, and for anybody curious about the world, it is important to know the theory behind numerous policies and products inspired by this book!

2/Imagine sitting in the middle seat, on a plane, between two talkative men who have strong opinions about your 401k.

Or imagine being in jail with a bunch of guys who were eliminated in the last round of interviews at Apple’s U/X shop.

William F. Buckley once said that he would rather be governed by the first page of the Boston phone book than the faculty of Harvard University. If you’d like to know why he felt this way, and have eleven hours to kill, this is the book for you!

3/I found it very long winded and rather slow going, eventhough I listen at 1.5x the speed. I was expecting more real life application examples (which came in right at the end) and how to use/create nudges but the main body of the book felt very focused on retirement funds. It makes for a good listen and is interesting, but I was expecting more.
