1/I had been looking for this book… sort of… I have read quite a few of the novels after Guilliman returns and I really wanted to read more about the introduction of the Primaris Marines… yay! Totally that. Though, I still have a ton of questions that are yet to be answered.
I enjoyed the story.
I am looking forward to the next in the Dawn of Fire series.
2/Initially I could not get past 5 or so minutes into this audio book. Mark Elstob, who I have no doubt is a fine Voice Actor for another fictional universe, was not a good fit for WH40K IMHO. GW has since had John Banks redo the audio. I don’t recall the actual date this occurred, but today is 1/8/21 for reference. God Bless GW for this! <3
****You’ll need to remove the old audio book from your device and re download it to get the updated John Banks Version. It is actually enjoyable to listen to now! (Definitely worth the re-download)****
The story may be hit and miss for any long time 40K Fans. I have been a fan of 40K since the 80’s, so YMMV. If you are new, you probably won’t be bothered by all the little things OG 40K Fans like myself are. Enjoy
3/The book was ok, I agree with some other reviewers that it is not as good as some other post Primarch returns books like the Plague Wars. Skip the audio version though, the narration is terrible here. Just awful.
