Tower of Dawn Audiobook Reviews:

1/Part 1:
Synopsis: Chaol & Nesyrin have arrived at Torre to try to heal Chaol of his spinal injury and get him walking. Unbeknownst to them, Erawon & Valg have arrived too— yearning for Chaol’s healer Yren. While Chaol & Nesyrin drift apart, Chaol & Yren become closer— just like the Valg chasing Yren.

So a lot of people have said they enjoy this one but honestly I understand why others read this in Tandom with book 5. It’s a slow start. The speed in which is progresses is the speed it takes for Yren to accept Chaol & his past. I hope Part 2 picks up a little more than Part 1… I just found it incredibly slow & yearning to read book 7 and find out Aelin’s fate. But we’re gonna push on.

Part 2:
Synopsis: As Chaol and Yren battle what remains of the darkness inside him, Nesyrin & Sartuq battle what lies ahead of them—spiders who were left to guard a place for Valg royalty. In the end, no one sees the Valg in the castle looking ahead— the one that wants Yren if only for the power that she can and does poses. In the end, all that remains is hope & salvation.

Finally! It picks up and escalates and has me drawing out this reading just one more night. Not wanting it to end, but being utterly amazed at who turned out to be the Valg ROYALTY lurking inside Antica had me gasping. SJM with her plot twists… I’m not ready for ToG to end but I cannot wait to learn what happens to our ragtag group of heroes.

2/It was a refreshing break from the rest of the Throne of Glass series, which is largely centered on Celaena/Aelin’s adventures. Instead, this book focuses on Chaol & his partner and their quest on the Southern Continent. Not as fast paced as the rest of the previos books in the series but the pace change is also refreshing – it moves along fast enough that it doesn’t lull you to sleep but slow enough that you can take note of important details. Very well-written! Loved it!

3/Prefer this book with the other main characters added. Their names are mentioned but they are not present. Not something I was looking forward to. I am still in the beginning of the book but so far I haven’t much interest. Hopefully it’ll get better.
