1/I felt like the author did a great job telling the story of Terry Ives and 011’s start. I read an article that said most of the readers who didn’t like it expected it to be written like a Stephen King novel. This one definitely isn’t but I loved it. Can’t wait to read the next one.
2/I liked it! I’m a middle-aged mom who got into “Stranger Things” with my teen. I love reading backstories about characters from movies/TV shows. This one’s emphasis is on what went on in the Hawkins Lab and about Eleven’s Mom. You learn about adult experiments that were going on in parallel to the numbered children experiments. You learn a lot about 008 (Kali) who has a role in Season 2. And forget any thoughts that Dr. Brenner had good intentions at any time.
We just got into “Stranger Things” recently, so we binge-watched all the seasons in a short amount of time. Then we were left with a void until Season 5 comes out, which may be awhile. This was great to continue that momentum from binge-watching the show.
3/Meeting characters we’ve only had glimpses of in the show was amazing. Also, hopefully paving the way for their return in the show or other titles.
