1/Like Sarah Waters as an author does historical pieces well and wonderful research as well
2/Slow start, but picks up in the middle and very exciting at the end. Makes you think about loyalty, honesty, and doing the right thing. Once one thing is done it creates a cascade of actions to follow.
3/A trite story of murder although well written seemed never-ending.
The court scenes were boring at best and the main characters went back to life before the murder forgetting the unsettling feelings they experienced towards each other.
