1/I first heard about the author reading an interview with Haruki Murakami. I figured if he was recommending it, it had to be good. It started out well, then I felt some passages were slow, and towards the end, I was blown away by the story and by the beauty of the writing. One of those books where I sigh as I turn the pages, marveling at the language.
