Reviews:

1/Contains a minor spoiler from the Mortal Instruments series. Do not read further if you don’t want to be spoiled.

Simon Lewis is my absolute favorite character from Cassandra Clare’s Shadowhunter Chronicles. Each and every character takes up a little place in my heart but Simon takes up more real estate there than the rest. At first, I was drawn to him because he is such a nerd. Something that we have in common. We have the same sense of humor and love the same nerdy things. But I soon realized that there was more to Simon Lewis than face value dictated. Simon was loyal, brave, selfless, and so relatable. Let me just say that Isabelle Lightwood is a very lucky girl.

I am glad that I decided to reread all of the Shadowhunter books in order. I had previously read TMI, TID, TFTSA, and the first two books of TDA. I wanted to catch up on my Shadowhunter books and going back to read some of my favorite characters has been so rewarding.

I loved seeing Simon go through Shadowhunter Academy. I love how he never wavered from his propensity for good when the mundanes were treated as lesser. Simon is always so honorable. I also loved all the flashback stories that Simon is told by others that are included in the stories. These other stories are told from the POV of the character in the story so it was always interesting to get the POV from those characters. I am such a fangirl for this bookish universe and I know that I will reread these books again and again.

2/Best book she has written

3/I’m not sure why it took me so long to read this book, but I’m so glad I finally did. I loved learning more about Simon, and his journey to becoming the Shadowhunter I knew he became. Well done, as always. A little bit of heartbreak and a whole lot of love, typical Shadowhunter story.
